The European Commission has announced three new European Partnerships under the Horizon Europe program, aiming to boost innovation and sustainability in key sectors, including textiles, advanced materials, and photovoltaics. These initiatives, part of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027, will enhance Europe’s technological leadership and promote its green transition.
The European Partnership for Textiles of the Future will prioritize circularity and digital innovation in the textile sector, with each partner expected to invest up to US $32 million. This partnership focuses on creating a more sustainable textile industry by fostering collaboration between public and private sectors.
In addition, the European Partnership for Innovative Advanced Materials aims to strengthen industrial competitiveness in the field of advanced materials, with both the European Commission and private partners planning to invest approximately US $271 million by 2030.

These partnerships will be funded through dedicated Horizon Europe Work Programme calls, with the first funding opportunities available in 2025. A fourth partnership focused on Virtual Worlds is also expected to launch later this year.
These new initiatives build on the existing 12 co-programmed partnerships established under the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2021-2024, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to sustainability and innovation across various industries.
