Madhya Pradesh is set to showcase the PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) initiative at the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025, which will be held on February 24-25 in Bhopal. This ambitious initiative aims to establish an advanced textile park in Pithampur, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, and is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F vision (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign). The PM MITRA parks, to be developed in seven locations across India, will receive substantial support from the central government, including Rs 500 crore for each park.
At GIS 2025, the Madhya Pradesh government will promote the park to attract investors from the textile industry, providing comprehensive facilities ranging from design to dyeing. A dedicated textile expo will be organized to highlight investment opportunities, particularly in organic cotton, weaving, knitting, and machine manufacturing. The initiative offers locations such as Chhindwara, Bhopal, Nimar Belt, Burhanpur, and Jabalpur for weaving and knitting, and Mandideep, Bhopal, Pithampur, and Gwalior for machine manufacturing units.
The project, which spans 1,563 acres in Bhensola village, Dhar district, is expected to create 25,000 jobs through 21 units in the textile park. The government has allocated Rs 4,445 crore for the development of these parks, with the Government of India covering 49% of the equity and the participating state government contributing 51% through a special purpose vehicle (SPV). This initiative is part of India’s broader strategy to strengthen its textile sector and encourage international and domestic investments.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit, further emphasizing the importance of the textile industry in India’s economic growth strategy.
