The Surat International Textile Expo 2025 (SITEX) has kicked off with a focus on non-Chinese textile machinery, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative. This three-day event, organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Trade and Industries Development Centre, aims to promote technological modernization in the textile industry.
In this edition, a notable highlight is the display of the 32-head printing machine, which is being showcased for the first time in Surat. This machine is expected to significantly boost the city’s garment industry by enabling more efficient digital printing.
In addition to the 32-head printing machine, other cutting-edge textile machinery such as water jet machines, high-speed rapier machines, and shuttle looms with seven shuttles will also be featured. These machines are geared toward producing value-added textiles like pure silk and semi-silk with gold and silver threads, further promoting innovation and local manufacturing under the “Make in India” campaign.
SITEX, held in two segments this year, is focusing on non-Chinese machinery in this first edition, while the second edition will focus on Chinese machinery. The expo serves as a platform for industry players to explore new advancements and innovations in textile machinery.
