Amanda McLaren, Managing Director of AW Hainsworth, has been appointed Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire by the Monarch’s Lord-Lieutenant, Ed Anderson CBE. In this honorary role, Amanda will support Ed Anderson in representing the Crown, fostering community ties, and promoting civic engagement. Her responsibilities may include escorting royal visitors, presenting honors on behalf of the Crown, and participating in local events.
Amanda brings over 35 years of experience in industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive, and textiles, and has spent more than 20 years at the executive level in the textile industry. At AW Hainsworth, she has championed mental health and wellbeing initiatives, enhancing support for employees through workshops and on-site counselling services.
Throughout her career, Amanda has remained committed to West Yorkshire, where she lives and works. She is actively involved in the industry as a member of the LITAC (Leeds University Institute for Textile and Colour) Committee and as a Non-Executive Director on the Textile Centre of Excellence (TCEO) Board. Outside of work, she has been married to her husband, Mark, for over 33 years, and they have two adult children, Alyssa and Ethan.
