The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has launched a new Reuse and Recycling membership category aimed at driving innovation, circularity, and growth within the UK fashion and textile industry. This initiative is geared toward businesses engaged in textile collection, sorting, grading, upcycling, and mechanical and innovative recycling practices.

The membership offers a range of benefits designed to support the success and environmental responsibility of its members, including:

  • Tailored business support: Personalised advice from UKFT experts on strategy, sustainability, compliance, HR, skills development, and funding.
  • Access to industry intelligence: Exclusive reports, market insights, and guides on best practices in textile reuse and recycling.
  • Priority event access: Preferential entry to industry webinars, conferences, and access to an archive of event recordings.
  • Enhanced visibility and policy impact: Advocacy, campaign participation, and promotion opportunities for business growth and innovation.
  • Networking opportunities: Invitations to exclusive member events for supply chain connections and access to industry networks.

Members can also access specialist services, such as legal, logistics, and testing support, benefit from reduced rates on Central London meeting facilities, and participate in the Reuse and Recycling Advisory Group to shape the future of textile recycling policies.

UKFT’s CEO, Adam Mansell, highlighted the association’s commitment to environmental responsibility, stating that the new membership category is a “catalyst for positive change,” supporting businesses in advancing sustainability within the fashion and textile industry.

In addition to this initiative, UKFT has partnered with ACT UK, CFIN, and the Textiles Recycling Expo to bolster collaboration and foster innovation in material reuse and recycling among industry stakeholders.
