Pincroft, a UK-based military fabric printer, dyer, and finisher, has taken a significant step in expanding its capabilities with a £1.5 million investment in advanced rotary printing technology. This investment strengthens the company’s leadership in camouflage fabric production. During an event attended by high-profile UK government leaders, including Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP and Maria Eagle MP, Pincroft also announced the integration of rotary laser engraving technology in-house, enhancing its domestic production capabilities.
The expansion event, held in Adlington, marked a major milestone for Pincroft, as government officials cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new military textile printing operations. Discussions centered on the benefits of reshoring camouflage fabric production, reinforcing national supply chains, and boosting local employment in the area.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle praised the investment, highlighting its potential to create high-quality jobs and position the UK as a leader in producing top-tier camouflage fabrics. He expressed optimism about UK-made printed uniforms for the military, while Maria Eagle emphasized the importance of retaining intellectual property and manufacturing expertise domestically, reinforcing the UK’s sovereign strength in defense textiles.
Pincroft’s CEO, John Vareldzis, remarked on the strategic significance of the investment, noting that the new rotary printing technology positions the company to better meet customer demands, explore new markets, and expand its product range to include lighter fabrics. Managing Director Mike Collins highlighted the increase in the company’s production capacity, which now exceeds eight million meters annually, allowing them to accommodate growing customer demand.
The investment includes the Rotascreen TG from Austrian manufacturer Zimmer, equipped with 12 printheads and a magnet system for precision and efficiency. Additionally, the SPGPrints bestLEN direct rotary engraving system, now in-house, enables faster and more flexible production of new designs, enhancing Pincroft’s ability to innovate and deliver high-quality printed fabrics from concept to production.
