Devan Chemicals has introduced its new sleep-promoting technology, “Devan Sleep Tight,” at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt. This innovative solution is designed to improve sleep quality and overall well-being, inspired by the global “Beauty Sleep” trend. The active ingredient in the technology is derived from upcycled Australian Tea Tree oil by-products and works through both inhalation and skin contact to enhance skin regeneration and provide a revitalized look by morning.
Devan Sleep Tight utilizes 97% biobased microcapsules that release their active ingredients upon friction with the skin when used in textiles such as bedding, pillows, and sleepwear. These capsules are biodegradable and promote melatonin activity, reduce reactive oxygen species (ROS), and stimulate the production of antioxidant genes, proteins, and collagen expression.
A clinical study involving 33 participants with sleep issues demonstrated significant improvements in sleep quality, latency, disturbances, and daytime dysfunction after using pillowcases treated with the technology for 30 days. The study used the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to assess the results.
Devan’s technology has already attracted notable partnerships with companies like Crispim Abreu Lda, Lameirinho, and Naturtex, and is expected to hit the market by the second quarter of 2025. This collaboration highlights Devan’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge sleep solutions to the global textile industry.
