The delegation is accompanied by Italian Regional Trade Commissioner Antonietta Baccanari, along with officials from the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT).
Italy Highlights Global Leadership in Textile Machinery
Addressing the gathering, Trade Commissioner Antonietta Baccanari emphasized Italy’s reputation as one of the world’s leading suppliers of textile machinery and industrial technologies.
She stated that Italian textile machinery combines decades of engineering expertise with modern industrial innovation, making it highly valued by manufacturers across the globe.
“Italy is globally recognised as the benchmark for excellence in textile machinery, where precision engineering meets cutting-edge industrial design. Our equipment is sought after worldwide for its uncompromising performance and reliability. We do not just build machines; we engineer the future of the global textile industry,” Baccanari said.
She also revealed that Italy exported approximately €71 million worth of textile machinery to Bangladesh in 2025, reflecting the country’s growing investment in advanced manufacturing technologies.
Strengthening Bangladesh’s Competitive Edge
Bangladesh remains one of the world’s largest exporters of ready-made garments, and the industry is increasingly investing in automation, sustainable production, and digital technologies to meet stricter environmental regulations and evolving customer expectations.
Italian textile machinery is expected to play a key role in helping Bangladeshi manufacturers improve operational efficiency, reduce energy and water consumption, enhance product quality, and increase production flexibility.
The collaboration is also expected to support Bangladesh’s transition toward more sustainable manufacturing practices as global apparel brands place greater emphasis on environmentally responsible supply chains.
B2B Meetings and Factory Visits Planned
As part of the trade mission, the Italian delegation will participate in a series of business-to-business (B2B) meetings, technical presentations, and factory visits across Dhaka and Chattogram.
The programme has been organized in collaboration with BGMEA, BTMA, BKMEA, and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from the Honorary Consul of Italy, Salman Ispahani.
The initiative aims to create new business opportunities between Italian technology providers and Bangladeshi textile manufacturers while promoting knowledge sharing and long-term industrial partnerships.
ACIMIT Represents Global Textile Machinery Excellence
The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) represents more than 300 Italian companies involved in textile machinery production. Collectively, these companies generate approximately €1.7 billion in annual exports, supplying advanced textile equipment to manufacturers worldwide.
Industry observers believe the latest Italian trade mission will further strengthen bilateral economic relations while helping Bangladesh modernize its textile industry through access to world-class manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and sustainable production solutions.
