Raymond, Arvind, Trident & Other Textile Stocks in Focus as Government Reopens PLI Scheme Applications

India’s textile sector is back in focus after the Ministry of Textiles announced the reopening of applications under the fourth round of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles from November 1, 2026. The announcement is expected to attract fresh investment in textile manufacturing and create opportunities for eligible companies across the sector.

Textile stocks, including Raymond, Arvind and Trident, remained in focus on Thursday following the government’s announcement, although market reactions were mixed.

The application window will remain open until December 31, 2026, giving eligible manufacturers an opportunity to apply for incentives aimed at expanding domestic production capacity and strengthening India’s position in the global textile supply chain.

Key Changes in the PLI Scheme

The government has introduced three important changes under Round 4 of the textile PLI scheme.

1. Lower Turnover Requirement

The minimum turnover requirement under Part 2 of the scheme has been reduced from ₹200 crore to ₹100 crore. This change is expected to make the scheme accessible to a wider range of mid-sized manufacturers and eligible MSMEs.

2. Extended Scheme Tenure

The scheme tenure has been extended until the financial year 2033–34 exclusively for companies approved under Round 4. The extended timeline is expected to provide greater investment visibility and encourage companies to establish new manufacturing facilities and expand existing capacities.

3. Migration Option for Existing Applicants

Companies participating in Rounds 1, 2 and 3 that have not claimed or received any incentives will be eligible to migrate to Round 4. However, they must withdraw their existing applications under the earlier rounds, wherever applicable.

Which Textile Segments Will Benefit?

The PLI scheme primarily focuses on increasing domestic manufacturing capabilities in three important segments:

  • Man-Made Fibre (MMF) Apparel: Promoting large-scale production of synthetic and blended garments.
  • MMF Fabrics: Encouraging investment in polyester, viscose and other man-made fibre fabric manufacturing.
  • Technical Textiles: Supporting advanced textile applications in healthcare, automotive, infrastructure, defence and other industrial sectors.

These segments are important for reducing import dependence, improving manufacturing competitiveness and increasing India’s share in international textile markets.

What Does It Mean for Raymond, Arvind, Trident and Other Textile Stocks?

The reopening of the PLI application window has brought several listed textile companies into market focus.

Companies such as Raymond, Arvind and Trident are among the textile-sector stocks attracting investor attention following the announcement.

The revised eligibility criteria and extended scheme tenure could create opportunities for eligible manufacturers to invest in new production facilities, upgrade technology and expand manufacturing operations.

However, it is important to note that the government announcement does not confirm that any of these listed companies will receive incentives under Round 4. Actual benefits will depend on individual company eligibility, applications, government approvals and performance requirements.

What It Means for India’s Textile Industry

The revised PLI framework represents another effort to strengthen India’s textile manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in man-made fibres and technical textiles.

Lowering the turnover threshold could encourage more companies to participate, while the extended tenure may support long-term investment decisions.

For India’s textile industry, the scheme could help improve production scale, encourage technological advancement, generate employment and strengthen export competitiveness.

Application Period: November 1 to December 31, 2026
Minimum Turnover under Part 2: ₹100 crore
Extended Scheme Tenure: FY 2033–34 for approved Round 4 applicants

The next important development will be the participation of eligible manufacturers and the government’s approval of applications under the fourth round.
