Rajasthan Strengthens Textile Push with Policy Backing, Global Outreach
Rajasthan’s Chief Secretary V Srinivas has underlined the growing significance of cloth exploration and proposed the organisation of a global conference of assiduity experts in Bhilwara, motioning the state’s intent to strengthen its position as a crucial cloth mecca.
Speaking during a visit to the Bhilwara Circuit House, where he was entered by quarter officers, Srinivas stressed the quarter’s steady artificial progress. He also launched the quarter’s first “ Viksit Bharat Gram Abhiyan ” as part of broader development enterprise.

He observed that the number of spindles in the quarter has increased sprucely — from roughly 60,000 to nearly 1.5 million — demonstrating substantial capacity expansion. Srinivas further stated that the state now aims to gauge this up to 5 million spindles under the long- term “ Viksit Bharat ” and “ Viksit Rajasthan ” vision for 2047.
The Chief Secretary also stressed the growing civilization of Kasturi cotton in the region, indicating that this trend is anticipated to admit farther support under the lately introduced Industrial Park Policy 2026. He added that the state government’s Textile and Apparel Policy 2025, enforced in December last time, is playing a pivotal part in driving intertwined growth across the cloth value chain, particularly in arising clusters similar as Rupaheli.
