Bharat Tex 2025 is set to be a landmark event in India’s textile industry, showcasing the nation’s innovative approaches to textile manufacturing on the global stage. Scheduled to take place from 12 to 17 February 2025 in New Delhi, this large-scale trade show aims to redefine India’s position in the international textile market by highlighting its industry’s versatility, technological advancements, and sustainable practices.

The event underscores the importance of the textile sector to India’s economy, which contributes 2.3% of the national GDP and directly employs over 45 million people, with another 55 million engaged indirectly. Organisers predict the textile industry could grow to a $350 billion market by 2030, potentially creating 35 million new jobs. The sector’s broad product range, from traditional handcrafted textiles like khadi and silk to technical textiles for healthcare and automotive applications, positions India as a significant player on the world stage.

Bharat Tex 2025 Road Show

A key feature of Bharat Tex 2025 is its alignment with India’s comprehensive ‘5F’ vision, covering the entire textile supply chain from farm to foreign exports. The event will focus on the growing demand for technical textiles, which are gaining prominence due to their application in various sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and automotive industries. India is also diversifying its fibre portfolio by enhancing synthetic fibre production, aiming to reduce its reliance on cotton and align with global trends.

Several pavilions will highlight important industry themes:

  • Sustainability Pavilion: Showcasing environmentally sound practices.
  • Start-Up Innovation Pavilion: Featuring novel solutions from emerging enterprises.
  • Craft Museum – Indi bhaat: Celebrating India’s traditional arts and crafts.

Bharat Tex 2025 will also include events like the International Silk Conference, Better Cotton Annual Meeting, and Innovation Hackathon, facilitating collaboration and growth. Over 6,000 international buyers and 12,000 domestic business visitors are expected to attend, with global brands like Aditya Birla, Reliance Industries, Trident Group, and Welspun participating.

The event will highlight sustainable innovations, circular economy initiatives, and ethical sourcing practices, all of which are critical to meeting global demands for eco-friendly textiles. Sessions led by prominent organisations like the Better Cotton Initiative, UNEP, and the Aditya Birla Group will focus on solutions for sustainability, while masterclasses will address challenges such as waste management and waterless dyeing.

With support from government bodies like Niti Aayog and international agencies such as UNEP and UNDP, Bharat Tex 2025 is poised to serve as a platform for Indian textile manufacturers to expand their global footprint, emphasising their commitment to sustainability, innovation, and ethical sourcing. The event is expected to foster new partnerships, drive growth, and position India as a key player in the global textile industry.
