Karnataka Secures ₹2,821 Crore Textile Investments at Bharat Tex 2026, Creating Over 11,000 Jobs

New Delhi, July 16, 2026: Karnataka has secured investment commitments worth ₹2,821 crore in the textile and apparel sector during Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi, marking a significant step toward strengthening the state’s position as a leading textile manufacturing hub. The investments are expected to generate 11,020 employment opportunities across multiple textile value chain segments.

A total of 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the “Investment Opportunities in Karnataka & MoU Signing” session, chaired by Rohini Sindhuri, Secretary, Commerce & Industries Department, along with A.B. Basavaraju, Commissioner for Textile Development and Director of Handlooms & Textiles.

The investment proposals span a wide range of textile segments, including spinning, apparel manufacturing, textile processing, technical textiles, medical textiles, hygiene products, and integrated textile parks. The projects will be implemented across nine districts: Kalaburagi, Chitradurga, Ramanagara, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkaballapura, and Kolar.

Addressing leading textile manufacturers, exporters, investors, and industry stakeholders, Rohini Sindhuri emphasized Karnataka’s growing appeal as an investment destination.

“Karnataka is not merely the garment capital of India. We are a complete Fiber to Fashion ecosystem where tradition, technology, sustainability and manufacturing excellence come together. We invite investors from across India and the world to partner in Karnataka’s next phase of industrial growth,” she said.

She also highlighted the state’s proposed Karnataka Textile & Apparel Policy 2026–2031, which aims to attract ₹20,000 crore in investments and create 500,000 employment opportunities over the next five years. The policy places special emphasis on accelerating industrial development in Kalyana Karnataka and Tier-II and Tier-III cities, promoting balanced regional growth.
