The MoUs are meant to set up a working plan that will help improve textile data systems in different states and union territories. The project also supports planning for important areas like handlooms, handicrafts, apparel, and technical textiles, with a focus on specific regions and districts, according to the release.

Each state or union territory will get a yearly grant of ₹12 lakh from the ministry. Additionally, each district will receive a yearly grant of ₹1 lakh, which will be given depending on how well the district action plans are developed and carried out.
