The government has given more time for companies to apply for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles, now extending the deadline to March 31.
This change comes after many companies applied since the application portal opened again in August 2025.
Textile firms in key areas like man-made fibre (MMF) clothing, MMF fabrics, and technical textiles have submitted their proposals, according to the textile ministry.
In October, the government had already pushed back the deadline for fresh applications to December 31, and now it has been moved again to March this year.
“The decision shows how much investors are confident in India’s textile industry and helps more companies get involved by giving them more time to apply,” said the ministry.
The PLI Scheme for Textiles was introduced on September 24, 2021. Its goal is to help boost the production of MMF clothing and fabrics, as well as technical textile products. It aims to grow the industry, make it more competitive, create jobs, and support the development of strong businesses.
